The Housing Bank Donates 270 Tablets with Internet in Support of Educational Initiative to Mark Jordan’s Centenary

The Housing Bank has donated 270 tablets with one year of free internet to students in government schools throughout the country. The donation, which comes as part of the bank's celebrations of the nation's centenary as well as other national holidays, is part of a corporate social responsibility initiative that supports education in cooperation with the Committee for the Celebrations of the Centenary of the Founding of the State and the Ministry of Education.

Through the initiative, which focused on directorates of education in the Southern Jordan Valley, Thiban, Giza, Jerash, Petra, and Muwaqar, a group of bank employees distributed the devices to students in Muwaqar at a ceremony attended by the secretary-general of the Ministry of Education for Administrative Affairs and Finance, Muwaqar Directorate of Education employees, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Education.

This initiative is directly in line with the Housing Bank's corporate social responsibility strategy, which works to promote prosperity, education, and sustainable development, while simultaneously celebrating Jordan's achievements in the one hundred years since its birth.

Commenting on this latest program, Housing Bank CEO Ammar Al-Safadi spoke of his pleasure at being part of this educational initiative, saying, "Education is a main pillar of the bank's corporate social responsibility strategy, through which we seek to combine the bank's strong position within the community with initiatives that promote sustainable development and the importance of a solid education. Today, through the donation of these tablets, we continue to uphold our belief that a quality education is critical to the continued development and advancement of the entire nation".

Al-Safadi went on to add, "The Housing Bank will continue to support the efforts of the Ministry of Education to provide the nation's youth with qualitative educational experiences through traditional and non-traditional methods. This holds especially true in light of the extraordinary circumstances brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the need for online learning in order to safeguard the safety of students, teachers and families."

This program is part of a series of ongoing and sustainable initiatives and community activities, through which the bank contributes to promoting sustainable development in the country.
