The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, has announced that it has completed the development of contactless feature for all its branded credit and debit cards in its continued efforts to provide its clients with the most advanced banking solutions. The bank now offers its branded credit and debit cards with contactless technology in a modern and unique design that features the bank's new headquarters and symbolizes its continuous evolution.

The Housing Bank has expanded the range of its contactless cards, which were first introduced two years ago and now include all categories of cards, a move that is in line with the bank's strategy to remain up to date with the latest developments in the sector. Through this new service, the bank continues to develop its digital payment tools, offering clients more choices, services and innovative products that are fast, convenient and secure.

The contactless payment uses near-field communication (NFC) technology, which allows users to make payments by simply tapping their card on equipped point-of-sale devices (POS), eliminating the need to enter a PIN code within a pre-specified ceiling. Purchases are deducted directly from the cardholder's account at the highest standards of protection and security. Contactless technology is an increasingly popular electronic payment method, helping accelerate processes that do not exceed a daily ceiling of JD150, in three transactions for a maximum of JD50 per transaction. Anything above these criteria, however, will require the user's PIN code to be entered. Contactless cards are particularly convenient during the global coronavirus pandemic, allowing users to avoid touching point-of-sale machines and conduct their transactions faster and more efficiently. Bank customers can request their new contactless-enabled cards from any of the bank's branches.

Housing Bank's debit and credit cards now also provide a range of value-added services for cardholders, including enrolment in Iskan Coins, which allows the exchange of points for valuable rewards, as well as special discounts programs and the option to pay in installments.

The Housing Bank continues the digitization of its banking transactions, recently launching an entire suite of digital services including the upgrade of its ATM network by adding 185 technically-advanced ATMs, updating its mobile app and launching the Easy Tawfeer savings program.  The bank has also introduced Iskan V-Card, which is issued automatically, and immediately through Iskan Online or the Iskan app.
